Dojo has taken the guidelines outlined by Nucleate HQ and tailored them to give Dojo a more distinguishable look. The distinct factors primarily include simplifying the colour palette to a primary and secondary purple, along with black, grey and white, as well as focusing on a “dark mode” version of the original Nucleate branding.

To understand why Dojo would like to be recognized as a separate entity from Nucleate’s regional chapters, we must take a peak at the logistical differences between these organizations.

Dojo began as BioDojo 3 years ago. Overtime, it became a subsidiary of Nucleate as both organizations work towards the same mission of creating opportunities in biotech. However, rather than a regional chapter, Dojo is not a geographically constrained entity, it is a created by and for an international community of undergraduates. Dojo’s initiatives are unique from the regional and overarching programs run by Nucleate as they are independently executed. Hence, it is important for Dojo to strive for a brand that aligns with Nucleate, yet can be easily recognizable by the students we’re helping support from an international lens.
