On the Radar
- Managing and learning from the current cycle
- Improve mentorship program and scholar community engagement
- Plan for more scholar content (e.g. blogs, writing, takeover)
- Plan for a research showcase symposium
- Establish better strategy on getting feedback + success metrics on the program
- Start putting together an initial impact report for the program (for sponsors) — we need a midterm report to get second half of funding from Intuitive
- Planning and launch Summer 2025 cycle
- Think about DEI and how this affects our overall goals, award types, application review process (talk to Sammi (Nucleate Co-President), JDEI team, advisors, our current scholars)
- Build broader application outreach pipelines
- Expand eligibility outside of U.S. labs (talk to Andrei, Nucleate VP Finance)
- Is there a better model?
- More use-cases of grants? Better application review process?
- Funding
- Think about a new track for the grants — this will open up new avenues for us to get funding (e.g. VCs, startups, big pharma)
- Continue relationship with Intuitive Foundation (negotiate higher $ for next year)
- Other
- Establishing an advisory/application review board
- Figure out what to do with DojoGrants alumni
Start here:
- First step: set up a brainstorming session with the whole team to outline the moving parts of DojoGrants and ideate how each of them can be improved
- We’re running a ‘leadership training’ module this year — interactive workshops to gain contexts on the organization, best practices, etc.
- Final ‘deliverable’ will be 2-3 case study or proposals from each team about a new idea/improvements you’d like to see within the program
- Keep this in mind when brainstorming — try to narrow down on 3-5 ideas that you’d really like to focus on this year
- Set up a weekly sync time with your team
- Set up 1:1s with your associates and get to know them!! Don’t just jump straight into the weeds, try to understand what their interests, goals, motivations are. A lot of associates are new to biotech and just want to learn more!
