High-Level Goals
Develop a robust and efficient system to grow Explore communities and expand to global regions organically
- Create a handbook on growing strong and long-lasting chapters in existing Explore-running regions (beyond current expansion guide)
- Develop strategies for sourcing local sponsorships and Explore-wide operations
- Devise a plan for expanding to regions outside of North America — growing to Europe and Asia
- Refine program curriculum and materials, and potentially introduce a 2nd iteration for year 2 programs
- Synthesize an impact report
Cross-Team Projects:
- Organize Dojo-wide inaugural retreat inviting leadership team, Grant awardees, House fellows and Explore associates — perhaps extended to an undergrad biotech conference (similar to Nucleate Summit).
- Develop an online webinar series (course format) accessible to global student communities
- This is definitely a spinoff from Explore so we will co-lead this
Next Steps
- Read carefully through all sub-pages, particularly the program structure, timeline, and chapters
- Brainstorming session with whole team to outline moving parts of DojoExplore and ideate how each of them can be improved — integrate this into the “Leadership Training Module” (below)
- Select 3-5 ideas (perhaps some from above) to focus on, delegate projects, and set deadlines
- Set up 1:1s with current & preparing chapters and get to know the managers & associates. For schools working on spring launches, schedule 2-3 additional check-in’s prior to the new year.
Leadership Training Module
- The ‘leadership training’ module consists of interactive workshops to gain contexts on the organization, best practices, etc.
- Final ‘deliverable’ will be 2-3 case study or proposals from each team about a new idea/improvements you’d like to see within the program
- Keep this in mind when brainstorming — try to narrow down on 3-5 ideas that you’d really like to focus on this year
