Why is Branding important?
Welcome to our Resource Wiki on Branding. This Wiki will introduce you to the basic elements of our identity system and explain how we use them to build our verbal and visual identity which has come to be an enormous asset for Nucleate.
Understanding and adhering to these guidelines is essential in order to:
- Maintain our expression across different platforms and regions
- Properly and professionally represent Nucleate as an Organization
- Reduce brand vulnerabilities and inappropriate use of Nucleate’s image
When should I use Branding?
Nucleate Branding must be used for all Nucleate events and communication to all audiences external to Nucleate. This includes but is not limited to:
- Promotional materials for Nucleate events
- Nucleate social media posts
- Materials presented at Nucleate events
- Presentations to external stakeholders
- Internal Nucleate recognition
- Nucleate merchandise/swag
No sector within Nucleate is exempt from using the proper Branding protocols outlined in Section 1, including:
Branding vs. Communications
Branding = the promotion of a particular product or organization by advertising using a distinctive design and/or collection of cohesive design materials
Communications = the means by which branding materials are distributed to their intended audience

2. General Guidelines
Nucleate-Guidelines-Version.pdf
Main Takeaways (Scroll through the above booklet)
- Make sure you are using the right font. This is non-negotiable. We use the font “Roobert” on all Nucleate material, and “Automa” for large numbers we wish to highlight. Don’t think “Arial” or “Inter” looks close enough.
- Do not stretch images such that they are no longer in their original proportions. You might not think the “slightly thinner or wider face” looks that un-natural, but people can tell when you have done something like this. It looks extremely unprofessional.
- For solid coloring stick to Nucleate colors and choose them by RGB or HEX color code, not “eye-balling” it
- Pay careful attention to alignment and spacing
- No QR codes on digital assets (ex. social media posts)
